Uwe Heidschötter

Lead Character Designer, Bad Fairies

Uwe Heidschötter is the Lead Character Designer on Bad Fairies, embracing the role following his work on That Christmas. During his time on That Christmas, he demonstrated not only his ability to create a recognizable yet fresh and unique cast of characters, but also his talent in leading them through all departments up to animation, ensuring alignment with the director’s vision.

Starting his career as a 3D animator, Uwe later ventured into directing, helming acclaimed projects such as The Little Boy and the Beast and The Gruffalo’s Child, earning recognition and accolades, including prestigious awards such as the Cartoon d’Or, Annecy Cristal, and Prix Jeunesse.

Uwe’s passion for storytelling extends beyond animation to illustrating comic books. This dedication led to the collaborative creation of the comic series Kiste, a beloved first reader classic in Germany.

Despite his diverse interests and talents, Uwe’s greatest passion lies in character design. He is thrilled to once again collaborate with the Locksmith Animation team, where he can immerse himself in his true passion and create captivating characters for audiences to enjoy.
